What is HackiOS? Running iOS on Android

According to its developers, HackiOS aims to boot native iOS 16.5 on Snapdragon Android phones. Here is what it is, whether it is real, where it stands and which phones are involved — plus how to avoid fake downloads.

What is HackiOS?

HackiOS is an experimental project from the OOSexGang team (Telegram channel oosexgang-developers). According to the developers, the goal is to boot native iOS (demoed as iOS 16.5) directly on Snapdragon Android phones using a custom UEFI implementation plus XNU kernel adaptation — not a launcher, theme skin, or an Android ROM that merely looks like iOS.

In mid-October 2026, demo videos spread widely on X and other platforms. Public reports name the test devices as the Poco X5 Pro (redwood) and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G (renoir).

Is HackiOS real?

What can be confirmed today is only the developers’ own demo videos and screenshots. There is no public source code, no installable build, and no independent third-party verification. Multiple outlets describe it as an early experiment; driver adaptation and app compatibility are widely seen as the hardest parts.

Our advice: stay curious, stay skeptical. Until the developers announce a release, treat any “HackiOS download” as untrustworthy.

iOS on Android — how they claim it works

According to the developers, HackiOS boots the XNU kernel on Snapdragon hardware through a homemade UEFI layer. That is a different approach from older projects that ran iOS apps inside Android (for example Cider). See the FAQ for comparisons and caveats.
